More Polka Dots

Revamping a boring manicure is natural for those of us who have hoards of nail polish;) We paint our nails and enjoy the minimalism and simplicity of one color for about a day or two, then we start to get bored. Not that our current manicure isn't beautiful, it just doesn't capture our attention the way it did when it was first painted. With all the new textures, finishes, and topcoats you can add no one should ever get genuinely bored with doing their nails.

I recently painted my nails with SinfulColors Easy Going, an uber pale, pinky-peach, cream polish. Well, as it would go, I wore it for a day and then I needed to use another polish (or two) on it. In my defense, they were calling my name. If they stopped calling my name and looking so pretty, I wouldn't have to succumb to their bribery. Initially I added some polka dots as an accent nail, but it still wasn't enough. Then I spotted Barielle Buddha-Ful and realized that the flakies (which shift teal) would be perfect. See...

Buddha-Ful Layering

Many of my layering adventures begin with a chipped or worn manicure.  This instance was no different.  I was wearing a fall staple of mine, Revlon Plum Night. After a couple of days and without time to do a complete change, I opted to add a topper.  I ended up picking Barielle Buddha-ful and this was the result...

I love how this flecked peachy pink jelly polish turned a deep plummy purple into navy!  This was incredibly beautiful.  I love how different toppers can completely transform a polish!

Better than nude?

 Earlier this year I swatched Barielle's Gem Stone Earth collection.  This collection was made up of staple colors that everyone should own.  I have been finding myself reaching for these classics all month.  Here is a manicure I wore featuring the nude of the collection, Back to Nature. 

Originally I wasn't a fan of this neutral against my pale skin tone, however after the summer has warmed up my skin tone it looks much better.  I added a coat of Barielle Buddha-Ful to spice it up.  I loved how it added a bit of character to a nude cream polish! This was a very easy to wear manicure.  I can see myself trying this again sometime:)

Barielle Buddha-ful

Barielle describes this polish as "beige with soft baby pink, blue, and light grey foil."  However, after holding it, using it, and swatching it, I would say that is is a sheer baby pink base packed with gold/lime/cyan shifting foil.  See what I mean?

The Verdict:
I should have used 3 coats instead of 2.  While I love this on it's own, I think it will be stunning as a topcoat over other polishes.  I cannot wait to see what this does over different polishes!  This was actually the most beautiful on overcast days, as the foil was more visible without blinding you:)  My only problem with this polish was the removal.  The foil was packed in there so tightly that my remover had trouble dissolving it!  It was a real pain, but it's still a gorgeous polish!
