Autumn Nail Art Challenge--Yellow

I love how happy the color yellow is. However, I do not own many yellow polishes. Also, I recently did a yellow manicure so I was stumped on finding something new to do! I eventually decided that I wanted to use a yellow and grey color scheme and created this for this week's challenge...
Yellow
I like how Darcy brings out the golden/yellow flecks in Yuna. I'm also happy that I decided not to use a cream grey, the shimmer definitely adds interest and depth to this manicure.

Polishes used: Zoya Darcy, Yuna, Seraphina

We're Not in Kansas Anymore...

Yesterday's post inspired me to try my hand at some nail art. I mentioned that Oswin reminded me of Dorothy's ruby slippers so I decided to channel that into a Dorothy manicure. I almost tried to choose something about each character and showcase that in each nail, but I quickly realized I had bitten off more than I could chew. Truth be told, this was my third attempt at this manicure! I was pretty pleased with the result. This might make a great Halloween manicure if you're going as Dorothy...or just drench your tips in Oswin:)
Polishes used: Zoya Oswin, Darcy, Purity, Rocky, and Song

Yellow and Neutral Alternative French Manicure

I love my family. We have always had the tradition of buying one another gifts when we are on vacation. One of the latest items I got from my vacationing family members was a beautiful scarf. It's only been the past year or two when I embraced the fact that I can indeed pull off some yellow articles of clothing. I do not have any scarves with yellow in them so I was excited to receive this one.

The summer weather has not been very conducive to scarf-wearing in the southern Midwest, but that didn't stop me from using the colors of this beauty for inspiration.
Polishes used: Zoya Chantal & Darcy (I used black rhinestones but you could always replicate this by using black polish)

Zoya Stunning Collection

How can these colors not make you smile? They're so bright and cheery! These happy cream finish polishes comprise the Zoya Stunning collection for summer 2013. Let's take a closer look at these delicious brights. All swatches show 2 coats without topcoat. (These images are HUGE so click on the picture for a closer look)

Darcy is a "sunny yellow cream." This bright, lemon yellow has a slight silvery shimmer in the bottle which is barely visible on the nail. I have a sneaky suspicion that this helps this yellow cream (& three other polishes) to apply evenly.

Thandie can best be described as a "citrus orange cream." This is the color that I was hoping to find in Arizona last year. Arizona has more of a yellow undertone while Thandie has a coral undertone. Thandie is my perfect creamsicle orange. This polish also has the ultra fine, barely there silver shimmer.

Micky is called an "amazing coral cream." Oh Micky, you're so fine. You're so fine you blow my mind. Hey Micky... (you were doing the same thing in your head) Micky sits there right on the border of coral and pink. Being the coral addict that I am, this makes me very happy:) (Also has the fine shimmer)

Yana, a "Geranium pink cream," also has the fine shimmer. Yana is the ultimate bright, summery, magenta pink. The color that is timeless and gorgeous on everyone.

Rocky is described as a "serene blue cream." This color is so beautiful and relaxing. You can definitely get lost within its beauty. This is the perfect aqua blue with the teeniest touch of green to give it a slight turquoise tinge. This polish has no visible trace (nail or bottle) of any ultra fine shimmer.

Josie is a "grassy green cream." Josie is the most delightful jade polish I have ever seen. This is a fresh take on the color of the year (emerald), making it more summer ready. (no shimmer)

The Verdict:
I adore cream polishes! This collection just makes me love them more! These are all bright, juicy, and fresh while maintaining a classic cream finish. These all applied flawlessly, including Darcy (yellow). While I loved them all, the standouts for me are Thandie, Micky, and Josie.
