Monday Manicure

SPLATTER

My first thoughts were less than enthusiastic when I found out this won the most votes.  I knew it would be messy, it would be my first shot at it, and I had no straws whatsoever to try it with.  Most of last week went by and I avoided it.  Then on Thursday I mustered up enough gumption to attempt.  I did it without a straw and used tape to block my skin from splatters.  Let's just say it didn't work at all.

I was discouraged & thought "no one will care/notice if I just don't do it this week."  Today arrived & I started looking at the incredible manicures that everyone else created.  I was in awe.  They were all amazing!

I figured I would give it one last shot & do an alternative French manicure with a splatter accent nail.

This manicure was not without its headaches, but it did turn out pretty nicely.  My biggest problem was that my base color, Sally Hansen's Sheer Nude, wouldn't dry.  When I went to use my french tip guides it pulled the polish off of my pinkie.  This meant that I had to freehand the tips, which is why they're a tad sloppy.  Overall, I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.
