Glitter and texture and bright colors, OH MY! It can only mean one thing...
the Zoya PixieDust Summer Edition has arrived!
|
Here are Solange, Beatrix, Destiny, Miranda, Stevie, and Liberty. |
The textured polishes are making s huge SPLASH (punn intended) this spring/summer. So many companies are hopping on the bandwagon and giving this new trend their own twist. Zoya has created a PixieDust formula with a matte texture with a special twinkle. Paint your tips with PixieDust, find your happy thought, and off to Neverland we'll fly!
Solange is "a gold metal foil sparkle." This golden yellow sparkler almost makes your nails look gilded. I was reticent at first because many golds lean very yellow against my skin and make me look colorless. I was very impressed by how lovely and wearable this gold is. The above swatch shows two easy coats.
Beatrix is "a tangerine metal sparkle." This juicy tangerine is right in line with last year's Pantone color of the year.It is extremely flattering and bright reminding me of sparkling citrus summer drinks. The above picture shows two smooth coats.
Destiny is"a coral metal sparkle." This polish makes your fingertips look as though they are on fire. I adore coral polish and had the highest expectations for this one. Destiny is more of an orange leaning coral with bright golden flashes. The above swatch shows three coats.
Miranda is "a rose sparkle." Two easy coats are shown above. This girly
magenta makes your fingers look deliciously sugar coated. I wore Miranda this past weekend and got so many compliments and inquiries about the texture and beautiful color. These textured, sparkly polishes are definitely head turners! (Please forgive me, Miranda was not fully dry when I took these pictures. The texture intensifies as it dries, but Miranda has the same texture as the others. I don't know what was wrong with me!)
Stevie is "a violet sparkle." Sugary and glittery, this beautiful candy colored polish reminds me of rock candy, jelly beans, and gum drops. It was perfect in two coats. The bright pastel is perfect for the transition between summer and spring, and boasts a universally flattering tone (not too warm or cool).
Liberty is "a blue sugary sparkle." Two coats were necessary for this oceanic blue polish to be opaque. It reminds me of tropical places and blue raspberry treats that turn your lips and tongue blue. This polish did leave residual pigment after removal, however it was not glaring.
The Verdict:
I love these texture polishes! They are just textured enough to give your polish a new feel and dimension without being uncomfortable, scratchy, or thick. Application was smooth. Drying time was more than a non-textured Zoya polish, but not ridiculous. Also these polishes are uber durable for being matte finish. Favorites were Solange, Beatrix, and Stevie. I wish Destiny was more opaque and that Liberty did not stain, but I'm just being picky.
*Update on the staining of Liberty: Zoya recommends using a ridge filling base, like Get Even, (ridge fillers are normally matte and will not interfere with the finish of the polish) to prevent the staining of this hyper-pigmented polish*
